1. 13 going on 30
–Rick Springfield aside, this is a movie that reminds us how starting off with deep friendship ends with deep love. It also reminds how it’s never too late to truly change yourself for the better, even when it seems like you’ve got all the odds stacked against you. Unfortunately, not all of us have got that chance to become 13 again just to make things right… though it wouldn’t hurt to dream, would it?
2. Little Manhattan
–Puppy love has never been so puppy, especially when told from the point of view of a 12-year-old boy living through a broken marriage. A young Josh Hutcherson reminds us all of how we were back then when we began to think beyond cooties and see the opposite sex as more than just a playmate. Set in the urban jungles of modern-day Manhattan, this is a film that reminds us no matter how hard we try to forget those we used to love they’re always going to be right around the corner.
3. Just Like Heaven
–Sometimes even death can’t come between a love that was born from mere annoyance. Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo make for a great pair. I haven’t seen this movie in a while, but every time I do watch it I end up with a smile on my face and hope in my heart that I will definitely be lucky enough to find someone, even if it be under the strangest circumstances.
