Like A Coat

I wear her like a coat.

I hug her sleeves

and caress what is mine to

touch.

My silver spoon bathes in

what is liquid gold in

my eyes.

Perfection in a bottle

Cheaper than the hardest of

brandy wine.

Spring turns to fall as fast as

the seconds in time pass.

I leave her like a coat.

Waiting in my closet

Like the hopeless toys of an

aged man.

Yet she waits.

And I let her.
